Dear CAHPI Clients,

During this time of uncertainty, we want you to know that we are still here for your pet. We are still open, even during a stay-at-home order, since veterinary and pet care are considered essential. However, in accordance with local and national recommendations, we will be altering our hospital polices and procedures to further reduce in-person contact, effective immediately, to help contain the spread of this disease in our community. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will keep you updated if our policies and recommendations change in the coming weeks. 

In order to limit in-person contact, all appointments will be curbside only until further notice. The new curb-side procedure will be as follows: 
 *When you arrive for your appointment, stay in your parked car and call the front office at 919-469-7387 to let them know you have arrived. 
*Wait in your car and a staff member will come to retrieve your pet. 
*A technician will call you to discuss your pet's medical history and ask relevant questions about your visit. 
*The veterinarian will call you after the exam to discuss their findings and recommendations and to get your approval for further diagnostics and treatment if needed.   
*Payments will be made over the phone and your pet will be returned to your car with any necessary medications and instructions.   

Patients being dropped off for surgery, other medical care services, and grooming will be handled the same way with curbside drop-off/pick-up and communications handled over the phone. The only difference is that you will return to pick-up your pet later in the day at your discharge time.  

All daycare and boarding guests will also be met outside by a staff member. 
*Please call us when you arrive and a staff member will come to your car to retrieve your pet. 
*This same procedure will be followed when you come to pick up your pet.
*An inn keeper will discuss all boarding information with you over the phone.

If you need to pick up food or medication, we ask that you please follow a similar procedure. 
*Call ahead to request the food or medication that you need and let us know when you would like to pick it up. 
*Please allow at least 2 hours for prescription medications to be filled. 
*Call us when you arrive to pick up your requested items and we will take your payment over the phone.
*Please wait in your car and a staff member will bring your items out to you. 

Our primary goal is the well-being of our patients, clients, and staff members. Thank you for your patience as we all work together to provide your pets with the care they need while preventing the spread of COVID-19.
