Dr. Hodges
Dr. Hodges was raised on a farm in the small town of Yanceyville, North Carolina. He was exposed to every type of animal imaginable, from wildlife to livestock. Between working with the animals on the farm and at the local animal shelter, it became obvious that animal care would become his career path.
Dr. Hodges attended North Carolina State University for his undergraduate studies where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science and minored in Biological science. He then received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from NCSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine where he developed and honed his clinical skills. Upon graduation, he practiced in Knightdale and Cary before he acquired ownership of Carpenter Animal Hospital & Pet Inn in 2013, fulfilling one of his life dreams.
When not working, Dr. Hodges is spending time with his wife, 3 children, and pack of animals. He enjoys gardening, the beach, travel, and swimming in his free time.
While Dr. Hodges is versed in all aspects of veterinary medicine, he has a special interest in surgery, dentistry, oncology, ultrasound, and recently echocardiography. He has obtained extensive continuing education in surgery, ultrasonography, and echocardiography. He also offers limited exotic pocket pet services for ferrets, rabbits, and rodents. One of his biggest passions is helping rescue animals in need and he frequently takes in special medical cases from rescues and rural shelters to give them a second chance.
Dr. Hodges places the highest priority on patient care and client satisfaction, and he is excited to serve your veterinary medical needs. He invites you to stop by our practice so you can feel comfortable that you and your pet are in good hands!
